Marrickville Library

Vic worked hard to deliver a new modern library located in Marrickville with no financial cost to residents. Today, the Marrickville library is an icon of the area, enjoyed and much loved by all the community.
Dulwich Hill Library

Whilst Mayor, Victor delivered the Emanuel Tsardoulias, Dulwich Hill Library at no cost to residents. A well received and much needed asset for the Dulwich Hill community.
Marrickville Childcare

Initiated the 2013 development of a 50 place child care centre on Illawarra Road whilst in the role of Mayor of Marrickville Council.
Marrickville Town Hall Memorial

Vic demonstrated his deep respect for servicemen and women when as Mayor he initiated the restoration of the WWI winged victory memorial at Marrickville Town Hall and spearheaded the Marrickville Remembers commemoration of the 100 year Anzac legacy.
Steel Park Water Play

Vic led the way in the construction of the much loved water play park. This continues to be a great asset to the community enjoyed by all.
Cooks River fencing

Responded to residents’ concerns regarding the safety issue posed by the proximity of the cycle path and Cooks River to the play equipment by installing a fence that has
prevented potential serious dangers to young children.
Arlington Oval

Led the way in the project to upgrade Arlington Oval with synthetic all-weather turf. This project has proved to be a tremendous community asset as the improved durability of the surface has enhanced the access of local schools, the community and sporting associations.
Fanny Durack Community Pool

Delivered the pool for the community and responded to residents’ concerns regarding the lack of shading provided around the outdoor pools and ensured that additional shade structures were installed.
Tree Rejuvenation

Vic has actively promoted a policy for the retention of trees in the Municipality and is always trying to improve the streetscapes - he believes it is pivotal that tree program budgets are not only spent on new plantings but also on the maintenance of existing street and park trees.
Cycle Ways

When residents’ concerns were raised with Victor Macri about the loss of parking caused by the proposed Livingstone Road cycleway, he assisted which resulted in the preservation of resident’s on-street parking and found a solution that still progressed the cycleway project.
SES Headquarters

As Mayor, delivered the new SES Headquarters at Sydenham Green to provide volunteers with a more functional facility that enables them to better assist residents during times of emergency, at no cost to the residents.
Street Restoration

When Mayor, Vic commenced the program of street restoration which incorporated a holistically integrated street view to reconstruct footpaths, stormwater treatments and tree replanting. Leading to a long-term positive environmental outcome and addressing concerns of many residents.
Tempe Dog Park

Delivered a 12 month trial of a separated dog park based on concerns form residents about the frequency of dog issues between small and larger dogs.
Alex Trevellion Plaza

Listened to the community on the poor condition of the Marrickville plaza and made sure the funding for the revitalisation of this important community space was implemented.
Ashfield Aquatic Centre

With experience from two previous pool upgrades, drove the upgrade of Ashfield Aquatic Centre with the inclusion of a gym, operable floor in the multi function pool, spa and sauna, children’s beach area and new building for the indoor 25m pool.
Tempe Reserve Playing Fields

Moved for the upgrade of the sporting fields that were in poor condition and in need of proper lighting and enhanced facilities.
Pensioner Rebate

When first elected to council in 2004 delivered the first Council Pensioner Rebate and a increase that covered $500 a year.
The Walk of Champions

A project started in consultation with a local resident about the need to recognise the many sporting champions Marrickville has produced by having their names on the walkway located in Marrickville Park.
